Palo Santo Sticks
Approximately 10cm each
Peruvian
Palo Santo, which means “holy wood” or “wood of the saints”, is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America and is related to Frankincense, Myrrh, and Copal. Burning these sticks is a sacred practice used by Indigenous communities of the Andes to cleanse their space and ward off evil spirits.
Palo Santo has been found very effective against common cold and flu. It is also known to provide relief against stress, anxiety, depression, asthma, and chronic headaches. In the form of essential oil, it can be used for therapeutic massages and get relief from arthritis and stomach aches.
Centuries ago they already used it during ceremonies to clear the aura and to heal from negative influences. In Europe people choose to buy the holy wood to clean their houses or just for the fragrances in its purest form.
The fragrance can be described as a warm, wooden and lightly aroma with a sweet touch that sometimes slip trough. In comparison with white sage (that is also used for the same purpose), Palo Santo gives off a very mild odour.
